Good morning Gig Harbor High School. Today is Monday, March 23 and here are your daily announcements:
Juniors and Seniors! There are still spots available for you to attend the College Planning Day field trip to UW Tacoma this Thursday. This is an opportunity to hear about a variety of Washington State public and private 2 & 4 year colleges in one day, on one campus! Permission forms are in the Future Readiness Center within the counseling office and are due back TOMORROW so make sure to grab one today!
ASB election season is beginning today! Are you going to be a junior or a senior next year? Do you want to run for ASB executive officer positions? If so, now is your time! Applications to run for ASB president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, and activities coordinator will open today at 2 pm on the class of 2028 and 2027 Schoology pages. Applications are due on Thursday, 3/26 at 2 pm. Need to ask questions? Please plan to attend an informational meeting at 2:10 on Wednesday, 3/25 in Room 104. Additional information, election timeline, and campaign rules will be shared at this meeting. If you have additional questions, please contact Mrs. Gillard or Ms. Poole.

Congratulations to the Gig Harbor Knowledge Bowl Team! They took second place at the State Tournament in Wenatchee this last weekend. Say good job to George Will, Ryan Dietrich, Mia Columbo, Nate Dietrich, Ben White, and Henry Siegel.
Please congratulate the speech and debate team for winning the AAA championship at the state tournament over the weekend! The Tides were led by their senior leaders. Autumn Coovert won the State Championship in Programmed Oral Interp and took second in Dramatic Interp while Elise Hill took 2nd place in Informative Speaking, 3rd in Original Oratory and teamed with Alaia Washington, Ally Dehope, Gabi Kurtz and Lana Vicente to take 2nd place in World School's Debate. Other top performances came from Mia Colombo, Ashley Carman, Isabella Ray, Ella Rodriguez, Rae Fabroquez, Emma Pankop and Kendra Smith.
JV Baseball travels to Bellarmine for a game at 4pm, Varsity baseball travels to River Ridge for a game at 4:30. Softball has home games against Tahoma and Lincoln today starting at 4pm. Good luck!
