ATHLETICS

Gig Harbor High School believes that interscholastic sports and activities promote sportsmanship and citizenship. The athletic/activity programs instill pride in school, community, teach lessons for life, self discipline, and develops students physically and emotionally.

Activities/athletics are an extension of a solid educational program. Research shows that students who participate in activities/athletics tend to maintain higher grade point averages, better attendance, and fewer discipline problems.

Participation in the Gig Harbor High School activity/athletic program is a valuable part of a student’s high school career.

Tides Athletics FAQ

  • You can only participate in one sport per season as per WIAA rules.

  • Login to Final Forms via the GHHS website. 

  • Yes, you can select all sports you’re interested in for the school year.

  • No, you must complete registration each year and ensure your physical is up-to-date.

  • Final Forms will show you as “green” when cleared.

  • Both parents/guardians and students must sign inside Final Forms.

  • There is no play fee, but all athletes must purchase an ASB card.

  • Yes, many teams offer optional conditioning and practice sessions.

  • After registering in Final Forms, you’ll receive emails and updates from coaches.

  • Yes, tryouts for Cheer and Dance teams are schedules in April and June.

  • A help sheet explaining the status of student athlete registrations in Final Forms. Green icons indicate cleared status, while red icons indicate incomplete forms.
