Good morning Gig Harbor High School. Today is Tuesday, June 2 and here are your daily announcements:

Seniors, Prom tickets are on sale through Friday, June 5th. All guest forms need to be turned in to the main office by end of the school day today. No late guest forms or ticket sales will be accepted.
Are you interested in leadership, community service, cooking, event planning, or making a difference at school? Then come check out the FCCLA Club starting next school year at Gig Harbor High School! FCCLA stands for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. It is a student-led organization focused on leadership, career skills, competitions, teamwork, community involvement, cooking, and culinary experiences. This club will be led by Ashlyn Peirce, Katie Waida,Reese Wilson and we are excited to build our FCCLA chapter here at Gig Harbor High School. We will be holding an informational meeting after school on Wednesday, June 3rd, in Room 324 for any students interested in joining next year. Come by for fresh baked cupcakes. If you have questions or want to learn more, stop by Room 324 and talk to Mr. Bug, Mrs. Hewitson, or Ms. Nyberg. Congratulations to our girls track and field team who took second overall in state. We had many individual event podium finishes:
Herring, Heikkila, Sullivan-Glennon, and Harruff won 1st in the 4x100 relay
Collins, Lester, Sullivan-Glennon, and Harruff won 1st in the 4x200 relay
Carlsson took 3rd in the 800 and 2nd in the 1600
Heikkila took 6th in the 300 hurdles
Herring took 4th in the 100 hurdles
Savage took 11th in the 3200
Harruf took 5th in the 200
Crane took 5th in the 1600
Our boys relay team comprised of Morris, Avelar, Arnold, and Olson took 3rd in the 4x100 relay.
