Good morning Gig Harbor High School. Today is Friday, March 21 and here are your daily announcements:
Today's historically significant woman deserves our respect! Aretha Franklin was a singer, songwriter, pianist, and actress. She quickly became a household name in the 1960s. After finding success with songs like "Respect," Franklin was known as the Queen of Soul and was the first woman to ever be elected into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Seniors: Please make sure your legal name and address are updated in Powerschool. This is the name printed on your diploma, and the address your diploma will be sent to. If you know you will have a new address in July, please see Mrs. Nichols in the main office.
Seniors: Are you planning on attending Olympic College next year? The OC Foundation scholarship application is open and the deadline has been extended to April 6th. Please look in Schoology for the application link and OC contact.
Library is closed 6th period today.
Gig Harbor Students! Next week is kindness week. Watch for fun activities in the commons during both lunches as we spread kindness throughout our school! On Monday, we are practicing kindness to ourselves with a comfy spirit day and affirmation station! Be sure to wear your comfiest clothes in honor of yourselves!
Both JV and Varsity baseball teams take on North Thurston at home and Track and Field has a meet at Peninsula today at 3:30.
